HABA is delighted to receive the 2021 German Toy Award for its Clever-Up! 4.0 building block system in the "For Artists and Master Builders" category. The award, formerly known as the "Golden Rocking Horse", has been conferred for 20 years by the family magazine "familie&co"; it is the only award for toys in the German-speaking world where consumers get a vote. “We would like to extend a big thank you to all our customers who helped us get through to the final round in the big online vote. The award stands for innovative and high-quality game ideas, and we are delighted that the jury chose our concept!”, explains Verena Bammert, CMO at HABA FAMILYGROUP. She adds: “The ‘For Artists and Master Builders' category is as if tailor-made for our Clever-Up! building blocks made of natural wood. Each set allows children to gradually learn more complex shapes and three-dimensional constructs, which they can put together in different ways using their imagination, creativity and a love of design. This offers variety in play and trains their understanding of space. The award-winning set number 4 even gives children the opportunity to learn basic math and coding in a playful way.”

The competition was open to all toys newly launched and sold on the German market in 2021. The first vote for the toys that made the final was the audience vote. The final decision was made by a jury of experts consisting of editors, parents, children, educators and representatives of the German Association of the Toy Industry (DVSI).
